The Workforce Board Lehigh Valley (WBLV) is a private sector led, integrated workforce system of economic and workforce development, and education and community partners working to ensure the Lehigh Valley has an educated and skilled workforce that meets business and industry’s labor demands.  We are seeking an accomplished leader to assist the Executive Director in driving the Board’s Vision, Mission and Goals.


Responsibilities:  Collaborate to identify workforce priorities across multiple partners and expand relationships with chief elected officials and economic development,  education and training providers, public and community organizations, and employers to ensure a skilled workforce for the Lehigh Valley Region. Identify and implement WBLV policies  and strategies to meet employer skills requirements and job seekers employment needs through  regional workforce analyses;  broker and execute initiatives to fill skill gaps through  Lehigh Valley’s integrated workforce system called PA CareerLink® Lehigh Valley; leverage local resources and expand outreach and revenue generating activities through grant opportunities;  monitor state compliance of performance standards and regulations within the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act; and represent the WBLV at regional, national and local events and conferences.


Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college, in lieu of degree, equivalent experience; knowledge of Lehigh Valley’s employer base, community partners, strategic planning, policy and program development, and project management:  problem solving, negotiations, communications, and writing skills a must. Must reside in Lehigh or Northampton Counties.

Pennsylvania’s WIOA Combined State Plan was posted for public comment on December 15, 2017. Public comment will be accepted until 5 PM on Monday, January 15, 2017. The plan is posted on Labor & Industry’s Workforce Development Plans and Reports webpage and a direct link to the plan can be found here.

The Lehigh Valley Workforce Development Board will make available to the public, on a regular basis through open meetings, information regarding the activities of the local board, including information regarding the local plan prior to submission of the plan, and regarding membership, the designation and certification of one-stop operators, and the award of grants or contracts to eligible providers of youth activities, and on request, minutes of formal meetings of the local board.
